Meet Dolly, a Chukar Partridge.

The Chukar Partridge has a light brown back, grey breast, and a buff belly. The shades vary across the various populations. The face is white with a black throat. It has rufous-streaked flanks, red legs, and a coral-red bill. Sexes look similar but the female is slightly smaller in size and lacks the spur.

Dolly is looking for a suitable home with someone who understands the needs of ground-dwelling birds. She is an alert, active bird who enjoys having space to move, forage, and express natural behaviours.

Dolly will do best in a secure, predator-proof aviary with plenty of ground cover, shelter, and areas to hide, as Chukars can be naturally cautious. A calm environment with minimal handling is ideal, as she is better suited to observation rather than being a hands-on pet.

She will require an appropriate diet for game birds, access to fresh water at all times, and protection from extreme weather. An adopter with prior bird or poultry experience, or a willingness to learn about Chukar-specific care, would be ideal.

Dolly would suit a home that can provide her with space, safety, and a routine that allows her to feel secure and thrive.
